Penguins Announce Jarrett Burton Signing

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) forward Jarrett Burton to a professional tryout contract.

An undrafted free agent out of Clarkson University, the second-year pro currently leads the Nailers with 15 goals and 38 points this season.

The 24-year-old from Echo Bay, Ont. had a 28-point rookie campaign with Wheeling last year after posting back-to-back 20-point seasons at Clarkson.

Burton could make his AHL debut tonight as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton takes on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the Penguins' "Pink in the Rink" game.
