Condors Game Preview: Special Olympics Jerseys for Auction Tonight

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors host the rival Stockton Heat at 7 p.m. tonight on Dignity Health Home Ice at Rabobank Arena. The team will wear Special Olympics jerseys for a post-game auction with proceeds benefiting the Special Olympics.

GUNS & HOSES: The annual Guns & Hoses (Cops v. Fire) game will take place from 3-4 p.m. today to benefit burn survivors. A ticket to the Condors game gets you into the Guns & Hoses game.

TONIGHT

The Bakersfield Condors host the Stockton Heat in the middle game of a three-game homestand. Bakersfield is 4-4-0-0 against Stockton this season and has dropped three of the last four matchups. Including tonight, the teams will play the final four games of the season series in Bakersfield.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Bakersfield scored first, a shorthanded goal from C Jujhar Khaira, but Milwaukee raced out to the next five en route to a 7-3 win last night at Rabobank Arena. The Condors received multi-point nights from RW Matthew Ford (1g-1a) and D Dillon Simpson (0g-2a) in the loss.

Stockton fell in San Diego, 4-2, last night. G Joni Ortio took the loss, stopping 17 of 21. C Derek Grant scored his 22nd goal, tying the AHL lead in that department.

SHORTHANDED

Power plays have been a friend to the Condors over the last three games going 5/12 on the man advantage. However, last night was the third straight game featuring a shorthanded goal and the first for the Condors in that span. After surrendering shorthanded goals in the two previous contests, Bakersfield C Jujhar Khaira potted the team's 7th shorthanded goal of the season to open the scoring. The Condors are tied for 7th in that category. LW Rob Klinkhammer has two shorthanded goals on the season in just four games.

CONDORS NOTES

The Condors are 7-3-1 in their last 11 on home ice... D Brad Hunt is t-9th among d-men in scoring with 27 points on the season. His five power-play goals is t-3rd... Bakersfield is tied for the fewest overtime games with five... The Condors lost for just the sixth time in 26 games when scoring the game's first goal... RW Matthew Ford has a three-game point streak (1g-3a).

HEAT NOTES

Stockton's loss last night snapped a five-game winning streak... C Derek Grant is t-9th in points among AHL skaters with 37, despite playing in the fewest games of anyone in the top 20... Stockton is 12-6-0-0 on home ice, but 6-11-1-2 away from Stockton Arena.
