February 6, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release
San Diego, CA--San Diego scored three goals in a span of 2:35 in the second period to knock off the Admirals 4-1 Saturday night.
The loss snapped Milwaukee's six-game points streak (5-0-1-0).
San Diego netminder Anton Khudobin earned the victory with 30 saves. The former Houston Aeros goalie improved to 2-6-1 lifetime against the Admirals in regular season games.
After a scoreless first period, San Diego scored three goals in a span of 2:35 in the second period to grab a 3-0 lead. Kyle Bonis scored at 3:48, former Admirals forward Chris Mueller scored at 4:43 and Kyle MacKinnon added a goal at 6:23.
Milwaukee got on the board with a power play marker at 12:42 of the second period. Patrick Mullen fed the puck from the blue line into the right circle for Trevor Murphy. Murphy quickly passed to Stefan Elliott in the left circle and his shot made it to the back of the net. The goal was Elliott's fourth of the season, all on the power play.
The Admirals had a late power play in the third period and pulled the goalie for a 6-on-4 advantage. However, it was Bonis scoring an empty-net shorthanded goal for San Diego at 18:33 of the third period to ice the win.
Admirals goalie Juuse Saros stopped 19 shots in the loss.
The Admirals return home Fri., Feb. 12 to entertain Rockford at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
