(Allentown, PA) - The Pawtucket Red Sox offense awakened in a big way for its first road contest of the season, scoring in six straight innings en route to a 13-1 victory, spoiling the Lehigh Valley IronPigs' home opener at Coca Cola Park on Thursday night.

The PawSox (3-5) snapped their four-game losing streak, scoring more runs in the game than they did on their entire seven-game homestand that opened the season (12 runs).

Pawtucket scored in every inning from the second to the seventh, tallying 15 hits over that span. The Red Sox collected 19 total hits, their most since 2014. The 13 runs tied their season high from last season.

Seven of the nine batters in the Pawtucket lineup recorded multiple hits, including four-hit performances from Ryan LaMarre and Chris Marrero.

After being set down in order in the first inning by Lehigh Valley (2-4) starter Jake Thompson (0-2), Pawtucket rallied for three runs in the second. Chris Dominguez singled home the first run, Mike Miller singled home a run in his first Triple-A at-bat of the season and the third run scored when Cole Sturgeon hit into a double play with the bases loaded in his first career Triple-A at-bat.

Miller and Sturgeon both recorded a pair of hits in their season debuts for the PawSox.

Dominguez collected his second RBI on a third-inning sacrifice fly. The next batter, Sandy Leon drove home his first run of the season with a two-out single to give the PawSox a 5-0 lead.

Sam Travis broke the game open with a three-run home run over the left field fence in the fourth inning, his second round-tripper of the season.

Deven Marrero capped off Pawtucket's fourth consecutive multi-run inning with a two-run double in the fifth.

Chris Marrero drove home the final two runs of the evening with a solo home run (1) to lead off the sixth and an RBI single in the seventh.

Starter Sean O'Sullivan (1-1) allowed one run on four hits in five innings against his former club to earn his first win of the season. Wesley Wright and Edwin Escobar each pitched two scoreless innings of relief.

Pawtucket defeated the IronPigs in Coca Cola Park's first game for the second straight season.

The PawSox continue the season's first road trip tomorrow, concluding their two-game series at Lehigh Valley. Pawtucket lefthander Brian Johnson (0-1, 2.25) is scheduled to face off with IronPigs righthander Casey Lawrence (0-1, 9.00) in the 7:05 pm contest. Radio coverage on 920 AM (WHJJ) and also streaming online begins at 6:35 pm.

The PawSox will return to McCoy Stadium on Friday, April 22 for the first of a five-game homestand, beginning with a three-game series that will also be against Lehigh Valley. Good seats for all games in the series are still available at the McCoy Stadium box office, by calling (401) 724-7300 or by visiting pawsox.com.
