Paul Ballantyne Re-Assigned To The Storm

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the East Coast Hockey League today announced that defenseman, Paul Ballantyne, has been re-assigned by the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League to the Storm.

Ballantyne, (6'3/204) the Red Wings' sixth round draft pick (#196 overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, has played three games with the Griffins this season and has not factored in the scoring, but has picked up four penalty minutes. Before turning pro this season, Ballantyne, who is twenty years old and hails from Waterloo, Ontario, played four seasons of junior hockey with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League, picking up 4 goals and 24 assists and 40 penalty minutes in 68 regular season games last year.
