Generals fall to PeeDee

Greensboro, N.C.- The Greensboro Generals dropped a 4-2 decision to the Pee Dee Pride on Thursday night at the Greensboro Coliseum. The Generals dropped to 3-3-2 on the season, while the Pride upped their mark to 5-2-1.

The Generals scored 39 seconds into the game to take a 1-0 lead over the Pride. Chris Bell scored his first goal of the season to put the Generals on top, with an assist from Vlad Serov and David Whitworth. The Generals maintained the momentum throughout most of the first period, but couldn't extend their lead.

PeeDee would knot the game at 1-1 with 2:39 remaining in the first period, and would score again with 58 seconds remaining in the first period to assume a 2-1 lead.

After tacking on another goal three minutes into the second period, the Pride would lead 3-1. Sam Ftorek scored his fourth goal of the season, as Greensboro cut into the Pride lead 3-2, only to have PeeDee tack on an insurance goal with 3:02 remaining in the contest.

The Generals out-shot PeeDee 32-27 for the game. Generals netminder Jamie Hodson made 23 stops in the loss.

The Generals play host to the Lexington Men O'War on November 1st, at the Greensboro Coliseum with a game time of 7:30. Superstock points champion from Ace Speedway-Mike Bledsoe-will be at the game with his Generals sponsored race car.
