Regina Pats News Release

Regina was looking to extend their winning streak to eight in a row tonight. However, Prince Albert had other ideas. In seven previous meetings this season, the Prince Albert Raiders held a 5-2 record against Regina. Despite only posting two victories, the Pats did manage to come away with points in three of those losses by virtue of two defeats in overtime and one in a shootout. The Raider's Vojtech Budik put the visitors on the board early scoring at 1:55 on the power play. That would be the only goal of the period. P.A. added to their lead in the second thanks to Jesse Lees who notched his 19th of the year. The Pats had plenty of opportunities, in the middle frame, including a couple of two-on-one chances that either missed the net or the puck took a bad bounce over a couple of Pats sticks. Regina would get one to go their way in the third, on the power play, from Cole Sanford. However that would be as close as the Blue and White would get. P.A. would add an empty net goal to seal it. The Pats outshot the Raiders 42-25.
