Bridgewater, NJ - On a historic night for the Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A squad flexed their muscle on the mound and at the plate for a 6-0 win over the Harrisburg Senators at TD Bank Ballpark on Tuesday evening.

Luis Gil was dominant in his 3.2-inning debut, striking out six, including the first batter he faced to start the game.

Estevan Florial launched a home run (1) to lead off the game for the Patriots. Diego Castillo added a run on a sacrifice fly later in the frame before Thomas Milone's three-run home run (1) to right field gave the Patriots a 5-0 lead in the first.

The sixth run came home on an error in the fourth inning for the 6-0 final score.

The Patriots pitching staff held Harrisburg to just three hits and struck out 15. The winning pitcher was Ron Marinaccio (1-0), who struck out seven in 3.1 innings of work. Tim Cate (0-1) suffered the loss after he allowed six runs- five earned- on five hits in four innings of work.

Somerset and Harrisburg will continue their Opening Week series on Wednesday night with a 7:05 pm game at TD Bank Ballpark.
