Kansas City Monarchs News Release

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Petey Paramore ended Tuesday's contest with an extra dose of flair, clobbering a solo home run in the bottom of the 10th inning that gave the Kansas City T-Bones a 4-3 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

An inning before, Paramore was involved in some ninth-inning heroics that helped preserve the 3-3 tie. After a leadoff double in the top of the ninth knocked starter Shaun Garceau out of the game, Paramore picked off the potential go-ahead run at second base on the next pitch. Chad Robinson (2-3) then struck out the next two batters. Then, in the top of the 10th, Paramore threw out David Espinosa, who was trying to steal second.

In the bottom of the 10th, with two outs and none on, Paramore launched his homer to right off Stayton Thomas (2-3). Paramore finished the night three for five with two runs and one RBI.

Garceau went eight-plus innings for the T-Bones, allowing three unearned runs in the fourth inning.

Tuesday was Kansas City's fifth extra-inning game. The T-Bones are now 4-1 in extras. Prior to Tuesday, the T-Bones' last walk-off homer was on July 30, when Matt Padgett hit a three-run shot in the ninth inning of the second game of a doubleheader against the Laredo Lemurs that gave Kansas City a 7-5 win.

The T-Bones take on Lincoln Wednesday night at 7:05 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark with a chance to take the three-game series. Tickets are available by calling the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 913-328-5618 or at tbonesbaseball.com.
