Kansas City Monarchs News Release

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones announced they acquired third baseman Brandon Jones from the Amarillo Sox on Wednesday along with a player to be determined later in exchange for Kyle Nichols.

Jones played with the T-Bones from 2005-06, and has also played with the Lincoln Saltdogs and Sioux City Explorers of the American Association. Jones brings fielding experience to third base, having played more than 550 games at third in his professional career. He also adds a career average of .254 along with 109 home runs to the lineup. In 133 games with Kansas City, Jones hit .238 with 23 home runs and 81 RBIs.

This is a different Jones than the outfielder of the same name who played with the T-Bones from 2012 until July 4 of this season. Outfielder Brandon L. Jones now plays with the New Jersey Jackals of the Can-Am League.

Also on Wednesday, the T-Bones announced the signing of infielder Kenneth (K.J.) Miramontes. Miramontes has played 34 games in his professional career, all of them with the Philadelphia Phillies organization.
