Amarillo ThunderHeads News Release
AMARILLO, TX - The Sox led the Airhogs 5-4 before a storm system stopped the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. The game at Amarillo National Bank Sox Stadium is postponed until further notice.
The Sox went down 4-0 after the starting pitcher; Brad Wilson allowed four runs on four hits in the third while walking two batters in the inning. Wilson finished with two and two-thirds innings pitched with six walks and two strikeouts. Matt Larkins would come in and strike out the last batter of the third and then allow two hits but no runs in the fourth.
Amarillo loaded the bases in the bottom of the third with a pair of hits and a walk for their designated hitter. Jorge Delgado then tied the game with a grand slam to left field. In the fourth, the Sox took the lead with singles from KC Serna and Jermel Lomack. Once Serna reached third from first base, the errant throw from right field allowed him to score the fifth run for Amarillo. Ricky VanAsselberg called time to replace his starter but the game was called to a halt by the umpires.
Thursday, the Sox are scheduled to host Grand Prairie for the finale of the four-game series. Game time is set for 7:05pm with the pregame show starting at 6:55pm on Ustream via www.amarillosox.com. More information will be given about when the rest of Wednesday's game will be played.
Season tickets are available for purchase in-person by visiting the Sox Front Offices at 801 S. Polk or over the phone by calling (806) 242-4653.
