Paquette Assigned to Gwinnett

The Atlanta Thrashers have assigned right wing DANICK PAQUETTE (DA-nihk pa-KETT) from the Chicago Wolves to the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators.

PAQUETTE completed his fourth QMJHL season with the Quebec Remparts last year, recording career highs with 36 goals, 29 assists and 65 points in 64 contests. His 36 goals ranked first on the squad, while his 136 penalty minutes also paced Quebec. The 20-year-old forward, who made his professional debut in four contests with the Wolves in 2009, also spent three seasons with the Lewiston MAINEiacs (QMJHL) from 2006 to 2009, where he racked up 110 points (58G, 52A) and 555 penalty minutes in 187 contests.

The Wolves will open their 17th season in Texas when they battle the San Antonio Rampage at the AT&T Center on Friday at 7 p.m. Chicago will face the Milwaukee Admirals in an Amtrak Rivalry matchup for the team's home opener, presented by LifeSource, at the Allstate Arena on Sat., Oct. 16, at 7 p.m.
