Florida Panthers Set Roster for Opening Night

SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that D Erik Gudbranson has been returned to his junior club (Kingston Frontenacs - OHL ), D Keaton Ellerby has been assigned to the Rochester Americans (AHL) and D Nathan Paetsch has been placed on waivers. In addition, RW Byron Bitz and C Marty Reasoner have been placed on injured reserve to start the season. With these moves the Florida Panthers opening night roster now stands at 22 players.

Florida's roster consists of seven defensemen (Allen, Wideman, Kulikov, McCabe, Weaver, Garrison, Paetsch), 13 forwards (Weiss, Booth, Santorelli, Dvorak, McArdle, Matthias, Higgins, Bernier, Reinprecht, Stillman, Frolik, Olesz, Hordichuk) and two goalies (Vokoun, Clemmensen).

Hordichuk, who was acquired by Florida earlier today from the Vancouver Canucks, is expected to join the team in Edmonton, prior to the Panthers regular season opener against the Oilers.

The Florida Panthers open the 2010-11 regular season on Sunday, Oct. 10 when the club visits the Edmonton Oilers at 8 p.m. (ET). The Panthers return to South Florida on Saturday, Oct. 16 for their home opener when they face-off against the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7 p.m. (ET).
