
Papineau Recalled By Islanders

BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the recall of Center Justin Papineau by the Islanders.
The Islanders acquired Papineau from the NHL's St. Louis Blues at the March 11th trade deadline and assigned him to the Sound Tigers. Papineau has seven goals, one assist and eight points in five games with Bridgeport including a successful attempt of the first-ever penalty shot taken in team history in his Sound Tigers' debut on March 15th versus the Springfield Falcons. Prior to joining the Sound Tigers, he had notched 21 goals, 17 assists, 38 points and 42 penalty minutes in 44 games with the AHL's Worcester IceCats, as well as two goals, one assist and three points in 11 NHL games with St. Louis. His total of 28 AHL goals currently leads all Sound Tigers.
The Sound Tigers will host the Albany River Rats this Friday at 7:35 p.m. They will also visit the Manchester Monarchs this Saturday at 7:35 p.m. and the Hartford Wolf Pack this Sunday at 4:05 p.m. All Sound Tigers' games are broadcast live on "The ZONE" FOX Sports Radio 1300 AM and at www.soundtigers.com. WSTC/WNLK 1400/1350 AM also broadcasts road games, and "The Sound Tigers Report" airs every Tuesday from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. on "The ZONE".
