
Panthers Send Jacob Markstrom to Rampage

SAN ANTONIO (December 6, 2011) - Florida Panthers Executive Vice President & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that goaltender Jacob Markstrom has been reassigned to San Antonio (AHL). In addition, the Rampage announced that they have reassigned forward Jonathan Hazen to their ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones.
Markstrom, 21, has posted a 2-4-0 record with the San Antonio Rampage this year. He has played in six games with the Panthers this season going 2-3-1 with a .928 save percentage. He made his first career NHL start on Oct. 18 at Washington, stopping 29-of-31 shots in a 3-0 loss to the Capitals. He earned his first career NHL win on Oct. 22 vs. the New York Islanders, turning away 18 shots in a third period relief appearance. Markstrom stopped 40-of-41 shots to earn his first complete game win on Oct. 24 at Montreal. The Gavle, Sweden native was drafted by Florida in the first round (31st overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Hazen, 21, has appeared in nine games with the Rampage this season scoring the game-tying goal in the Rampage's 3-2 shootout victory on opening night, Oct. 8 vs. Chicago. The Val-Belair, Quebec native has recorded two goals and two assists in 10 games with Cincinnati this year.
