Bulldogs Shutout Phantoms in Overtime Victory

Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs were the first and only team to get on the scoreboard tonight, shutting out the Adirondack Phantoms 1-0 in overtime.

The first period set the tone for a low-scoring, close game, ending in a 0-0 tie. The Hamilton Bulldogs shot 7 times on Adirondack Phantoms goalie Michael Leighton. 'Dogs goaltender Nathan Lawson faced 6 shots.

Though the second period was also scoreless, both teams created exciting scoring chances, with Hamilton leading 20-10 in shots. The period ended with a brawl near the Adirondack bench, and the Bulldogs would start the third period on the power play.

In the third, the Phantoms overtook the Bulldogs on the shot clock, with the final tally standing at 34 to 28 for Adirondack. But the game would be decided in overtime, with Aaron Palushaj scoring the first and only goal of the game at 4:15 into the extra period to give the Hamilton Bulldogs their second consecutive win.

The Bulldogs next take to the ice on Friday, December 9th, at 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum when they will face the Toronto Marlies in the 15th Annual Stuffed Toy Toss game.
