ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward Kenndal McArdle has been assigned to the club by the Florida Panthers from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
McArdle, a first round draft pick, taken 20th overall by the Panthers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, is in his rookie season and has notched 10 points (5g, 5a) in 36 games with the Amerks this season. The 24-year-old made his professional debut on Oct. 5 vs. Syracuse and registered his first pro point that same night with an assist. McArdle's first professional goal came a couple games later on Oct. 13 vs. Providence.
The Burnaby, BC native entered the pro ranks after finishing up his junior career by capturing the Memorial Cup Championship with the Vancouver Giants in 2006-07. The 6-foot, 205 pound winger's junior career spanned from 2002-2007 during which he spent the first four years with Moose Jaw before splitting in final season. His best junior season came in 2004-05 when he led Moose Jaw in scoring with 74 points and finished 10th in the WHL with that point total.
