
Wranglers Fall To Condors In A Shootout 2-1

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® were edged by the Bakersfield Condors 2-1 in a shootout Friday night at the Orleans Arena. Bakersfield goalie Michel Robinson stopped 34 of 35 shots in regulation and all five in the shootout to preserve the Condors win. Las Vegas goalie Kevin Lalande stopped 29 of 30 in regulation and four of five in the shootout, suffering the loss. Wranglers Captain Peter Ferraro and Condors winger Mark Derlago each scored in regulation. Las Vegas will host Phoenix at 7:05 pm on Saturday night at the Orleans Arena.
Bakersfield scored their only goal in regulation at 12:36 of the first period for the 1-0 lead. Left wing Mark Derlago fired in a rebound for his team-leading 29th goal of the year.
Las Vegas tied the game 1-1 when Peter Ferraro scored his 30th goal of the year at 6:44 of the second period. Center Tyler Mosienko set up the play with a drop pass in the high-slot. Ferraro rifled the shot off the pads of Robinson and into the Condors net.
The game stayed tied 1-1 through the third period and overtime, setting up a shootout. Robinson stopped all five Wranglers shooters and winger Brett Lutes tallied the only Bakersfield goal in the shootout for the win.
On Saturday March 8th, after the Wranglers host the Phoenix RoadRunners at 7:05 pm the team will head to McMullan's Irish Pub (corner of Tropicana Avenue and Cameron Rd.) within 30 minutes of the completion of the game. Nine different Wranglers have volunteered to shave their heads at McMullan's after the game. Jason Dest, Aaron Power, Daniel Manzato, Sean Owens, Adam Cracknell, Jason Jozsa, Brad Cole, Tyler Mosienko, Bruce Mulherin and Ryan Donally will have their heads shaved for charity. Front office employee Victor DeMarco will also shave his head. Fans and St. Baldrick's supporters may donate money to the cause by sponsoring a Wranglers player on the internet at www.stbaldricks.org. In order to make a donation in a player's name, fans may search under the first name by typing in "Wranglers".
Individual game tickets are now on sale. Fans may purchase tickets on the Wranglers team website at www.lasvegaswranglers.com or the Orleans Arena website (www.orleansarena.com). Fans may also purchase tickets at any of the following locations in the valley: Galleria Mall, Orleans Casino showroom box office, Gold Coast Casino showroom box office and the Suncoast Casino showroom box office.
