Painchaud Reassigned to Iowa

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, announced that RW Chad Painchaud has been reassigned to the Iowa Chops (AHL) by the Anaheim Ducks.

Painchaud, 22, was named the ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 16 - 22 on Tuesday, after helping lead the Condors to a 3-0-1 record with 5g-5a-10pts last week. Painchaud has skated in all 57 games with the Condors this season, leading the team with 44 assists and 64 points, both of which are career highs. He ranks 2nd in the ECHL in assists and 4th in points, and at the time of his reassignment was tied for the league lead with Condors LW Mark Derlago in points in the month of February, tallying 21 points (11g-10a) in 13 games. Painchaud, Derlago (9g-12a-21pts) and F Dave Bonk (6g-14a-20pts) are currently three of the league's top four scorers this month.

The 6-foot-1-inch, 190-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario, is in his third professional season and first under contract to the Anaheim Ducks after being acquired from the Atlanta Thrashers during the offseason. Painchaud began his professional career with the Gwinnett Gladiators in 2006-07 and made his American Hockey League debut with the Chicago Wolves last season, notching 1g-2a-3pts in 22 games. This is his first AHL stint of the 2008-09 campaign.

Additionally, D Jay Langager has been activated from the 7-IR today. F Matt Pope was transferred from the 3-IR to the 7-IR today, and is eligible to be activated on Sunday. D Sean Hurley was placed on the 3-IR today and is eligible to be activated on Sunday as well. C Brett Pilkington remains on the 30-IR and is eligible to be activated on March 8, while LW Bobby Bolt remains on the 30-IR, though he is eligible to be activated. Notes from the Nest: Saturday night, the Condors head to Phoenix to take on the RoadRunners at 6:05 p.m. (Pacific). Bakersfield returns home on Sunday, March 1 to host the Las Vegas Wranglers with a 5 p.m. start (doors open at 4 p.m.). That game, Dora the Explorer will be in the house, greeting fans and posing for pictures in the Condors Photo Booth, sponsored by Bright House Networks and La Preciosa 105.3.

In addition to being broadcast on ESPN Radio 1230, B2 Networks and Bakersfieldcondors.com, Sunday's game will be televised live on Bright House Networks Ch. 21 and available On Demand on Ch.300, starting the following day.

Get Tickets: Individual game tickets may be purchased through the Rabobank Arena Box Office, which is open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday with extended hours on game days.
