
Wheeling Nailers Sign Defenseman Ralph

WHEELING, W.Va. - The Wheeling Nailers, the âAA' affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, announced the signing of defenseman Jon Ralph today. The signing was announced by head coach Greg Puhalski. As per team policy, financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Ralph, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed shooter, was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. He will be looked upon to contribute to a Wheeling defense that recently saw Mitch Ganzak loaned to Albany of the AHL.
Ralph played two seasons of NCAA hockey at Bowling Green State University. He played his junior and senior seasons at Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Ralph scored two goals with 12 assists this season for Wisconsin-Stevens Point along with recording 34 penalty minutes.
