Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Would you like to have Andrew Ianiero and Tylor Michel bring you drinks and food? Ever wonder what Mark Derlago, Jay Langager and Yutaka Fukufuji sound like when trying to belt out popular tunes? You can find out during the 9th Annual Tip-A-Condor charity dinner and auction, to benefit the Kern County Shrine Club, featuring all your favorite Condors as the evening's servers and entertainment.
This year's event, sponsored by KUZZ 107.9, will be held on Tuesday, March 10 at the Buck Owens Crystal Palace. Doors open at 5 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m., and seating is based on a first-come, first-served basis. Condors players will work for tips by serving dinner and drinks to the attendees as well as singing and dancing on stage, for the right price! There will also be live and silent auctions ranging from activities with the Condors to unique sports memorabilia.
Tip-A-Condor has brought in more than $93,000 for charity over the past eight years. All proceeds benefit the Kern County Shrine Club, which in turn helps support a number of community organizations and the Shriners Children's Hospital.
"I think the highlight of every year is when Scott Balan struts down the catwalk singing 'I'm Too Sexy,' so hopefully we'll get to see that again," said Condors Alternate Captain Andrew Ianiero. "We love it, hanging out with the fans and of course it's all for a really good cause."
Last year's Tip-A-Condor drew a standing-room-only crowd, so be sure to purchase your tickets now! Tickets are available at the Condors Front Office, open 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and at the Crystal Palace Box Office, open Tuesday-Saturday 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Tickets are also available at the Kern County Shrine Club table, located behind section 107 during Condors games. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children, 12-and-under. For more information, contact the Community Relations department of the Bakersfield Condors at 324-PUCK (7825).
