Tucson Padres News Release

The Tucson Padres beat Colorado Springs 14-3 Monday in a five-inning shortened game filled with severe wind exceeding 50 miles per hour at times. Dirt and dust swirled around the field in the final three innings. Multiple hits fell to the ground as fielders ineffectively tried to catch fluttering fly balls.

All 14 of the Padres runs came with two outs.

The Padres struck first in the top of the third when they sent 11 batters to the plate and scored six runs on five hits. Corey Dickerson scored one of the Sky Sox's two runs in the bottom half of the third with home run over the center field wall. Tucson responded with four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to take an eleven-run lead.

Dean Anna drove in a team-high four RBIs off three hits and Jaff Decker hit his second home run of the season in the top of the fourth. Travis Buck also compiled three hits, three RBIs and three runs in the contest. Relief pitcher Jorge Reyes earned his first win of the year, going 2.2 innings, allowing two hits and one run without walking a batter. Aaron Cook took the loss for the Sky Sox, surrendering five hits, six earned runs and two walks.
