'Pack the Park' for Jack Roeder Day Friday, September 3rd

Cedar Rapids, IA- After 20 years as the Kernels General Manager, and 30 years in baseball, Jack Roeder is retiring. His last regular season game with the Kernels will be on Friday, September 3rd at 6:35 pm. Let's "Pack the Park" for Jack and wish him well in his new venture.

The first 1,000 fans entering the gates when they open at 5 pm will receive a commemorative Jack Roeder coffee mug. These limited edition coffee mugs will only be available the day of the game to the first, 1,000 fans entering the gates. These mugs will have the three logos of the Cedar Rapids Reds, the Classic Kernels logo and the current Kernels logo. There will also be a panel with a picture of Jack.

Continuing our Friday Concert Series, the Large Midgets will perform from 5-5:45 pm before the game and will also perform after the game.

The Kernels team will be wearing special "Roeder" jerseys in honor of Jack Roeder, and these one of a kind jerseys will be auctioned off on the concourse. The proceeds from these jerseys will be going to a charity of Jack's choice.

A special pregame ceremony on the field with Jack, members of the Cedar Rapids Ball Club Board of Directors, Minor League Baseball, Midwest League Executives and city officials will take place beginning at approximately 5:45 pm. And, a slide show of photos highlighting Jack's career in baseball and his community involvement will be shown on the LED board, throughout the game.
