Today's Game: The Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) host the Whitecaps (affiliate of the Detroit Tigers) in game three of a four-game set.

Season Series: Dayton 7, West Michigan 7 (At Dayton: West Michigan 3, Dayton 2).

Streaks: Dayton: Lost 2 (Lost 23 of last 26). West Michigan: Won 4 (Won 9 of last 12).

Last Game: West Michigan defeated Dayton 21-10 in a game that saw two franchise records fall and another tied. The Whitecaps scored nine runs in the top of the first inning, only to see the Dragons answer by drawing to within three at 9-6 in the third. The Whitecaps scored three more in the top of the fourth before the Dragons scored four in the bottom of the inning to make it 12-10. Michael Rockett's grand slam homer in the sixth rebuilt West Michigan's lead to 17-10 as they cruised to the victory. The 31 total runs between the two teams tied a Dragons record. The 21 runs scored by West Michigan broke the record for most runs by a Dragons opponent. The game was played in three hours, 56 minutes, the longest nine-inning game in Dragons history. Dayton had 16 hits, led by Andrew Means, who collected three hits including a home run. Ryan LaMarre and Cameron Satterwhite each had three hits and three RBI. Didi Gregorius also had three hits. West Michigan had 27 at-bats in the game with men in scoring position. They collected 18 hits and drew 13 walks. Rockett and Corey Jones each had four hits.

Today's Starting Pitcher: Daniel Corcino makes his Dragons debut tonight. Corcino joins the Dragons from Billings (Pioneer League), where he made nine starts, going 1-3 with a 3.40 ERA (ninth in the league at the time of his promotion). He is a 19-year-old native of the Dominican Republic. He was signed as an international free agent on January 11, 2008. This is his third season in the Reds organization. He will be making his debut in a full-season league tonight.

Individual Notes

* Mark Fleury has hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games and is batting .333 over his last 29 games. He batted .352 in July to tie for eighth in the league. He is batting .316 in the second half to lead the team.

* Henry Rodriguez has hit safely in 40 of his last 46 games. Since June 1, he is batting .315 to raise his season average from .260 to .289. He is hitting .311 in the second half to rank second on the team.

* Ryan LaMarre has hit in eight straight games and 12 of his last 13. He is batting .400 over his last 13 games.

* Didi Gregorius is batting .327 over his last 14 games.

* Frank Pfister is batting .303 with a home run over his last 10 games.

* Jacob Johnson over his last four starts: 2-0, 25.1 IP, 3 ER, 1.07 ERA. Johnson since May 26: 6-2, 3.12 ERA.

* The Dragons roster includes two players who are ranked among the Reds top 30 prospects by Baseball America. They are shortstop Didi Gregorius (#15) and pitcher J.C. Sulbaran (#25).
