FORT WAYNE, Ind. - For the second time in four weeks, TinCaps C Jason Hagerty was named the Midwest League Hitter of the Week on Monday. He hit .500 with five home runs to pick up the award.

Hagerty, the Padres' fifth-round pick in last year's draft, went 13-for-26 during the week, raising his batting average by 15 points to .309. On Tuesday in Lansing, he hit a pair of home runs, then hit another round-tripper the next night which traveled an estimated 480 feet to right-center field. He blasted a home run on Thursday in his final at-bat in Lansing, then opened Friday's game at Parkview Field with a solo shot in the first inning. Hagerty scored ten runs and collected nine RBIs in the week.

Since the MWL All-Star break, the University of Miami (Fla.) product leads the full-season minors in on-base percentage (.517) and OPS (1.224).

Hagerty and the TinCaps continue a seven-game homestand Monday with a 7:05 p.m. game against the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Class-A Tampa Bay Rays). The homestand continues through Friday.
