Pack adds Hossa

New York, February 16, 2008 -- New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that forward Marcel Hossa will report to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL) for conditioning.

Hossa, 26, has registered one goal and seven assists for eight points, along with a plus-seven rating and 24 penalty minutes in 35 games with the Rangers this season. The Ilava, Slovakia native has posted a plus or even rating in 32 of his 35 appearances, and he leads the team with a plus-seven rating. Hossa played in his 200th NHL game on November 10 at Toronto, registering a shootout goal in a 3-2 win. The 6-3, 220-pound forward has missed the last nine games with back spasms, dating back to January 24 vs. Atlanta, and has missed a total of 18 games (2 - Hip Flexor, 7 - Flu, 9 - Back Spasms) to injury or illness this season.

The Blueshirts are in action today when they will face-off against the Buffalo Sabres at Madison Square Garden (1:00 PM). This afternoon's contest will be televised live on MSG Network.
