P-Bruins Release Kenny Roche

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 18th year in the American Hockey League, announced that they have released forward Kenny Roche from his Professional Tryout Agreement. With the move, the P-Bruins have 24 players on their roster, including 14 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders.

Roche, 26, signed with Providence for the second time this season on March 6 after previously playing for the club from January 15-18. In his most recent stint, the forward appeared in 11 games with two assists, bringing his season totals to 14 contests and three assists with the P-Bruins. Roche also suited up for 14 games for the Hartford Wolf Pack this year, where he registered eight points (4g, 4a) from January 23 to March 2. With his release, the fourth-year pro returns to the ECHL's Charlotte Checkers, where he has collected 33 points (17g, 16a) and 11 multiple-point outings in 36 games this season.

The South Boston, Massachusetts, native and four-year standout for the Boston University Terriers has enjoyed AHL experience with Providence, Hartford and the Lake Erie Monsters, appearing in 63 games with 18 points (6g, 12a) between the three squads. The center was selected by the New York Rangers 75th overall in the third round of the 2003 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Providence gets back into action with three games this weekend, beginning Friday at The Dunk against the Worcester Sharks at 7:05 p.m. for Keychain Night. Keychains are free to the first 1,000 fans in attendance. On Saturday, the P-Bruins travel to New Hampshire to face the Manchester Monarchs for a 7 p.m. tilt, and then take on the Portland Pirates on Sunday at 4 p.m. in Maine.
