The Manitoba Moose split Week 26 with the Hamilton Bulldogs after earning a 3-2 victory on Tuesday night followed by a 7-1 loss on Wednesday night. The Moose sit fourth in the North Division with 78 points -- just one point back of the third place Abbotsford Heat.

Tuesday, March 23, 2010: Manitoba 3, Hamilton 2

The Manitoba Moose earned a 3-2 victory over the North Division's first place Hamilton Bulldogs in front of 6,909 fans at MTS Centre on Tuesday night. Marco Rosa, Guillaume Desbiens and Evan Oberg all notched goals for Manitoba while Cory Schneider stopped 24 of 26 shots in his 52nd appearance this season.

Wednesday, March 24, 2010: Manitoba 1, Hamilton 7

The Manitoba Moose dropped a 7-1 decision to the North Division-leading Hamilton Bulldogs in front of 7,769 fans at MTS Centre on Wednesday night. Lawrence Nycholat scored the lone Manitoba goal while Cory Schneider stopped 15 of 20 shots in two periods of work, Daren Machesney stopped 5 of 7 shots in his third-period relief. Despite the loss, the Moose maintained their fourth place position in the North Division.

DIVISION DETAILS: The Manitoba Moose started their six-game North Division road trip on a good note last night after beating the Abbotsford Heat 5-2. The Moose hold a 19-11-1-0 record versus divisional foes. However, the Moose are just 7-6 in their last 13 games vs. the North since Feb. 12 vs. Toronto. The last time the Moose swept a two-game series versus a North opponent was Jan. 12 & 13 at Abbotsford. After this week's games against the Heat, the Moose travel to Toronto to take on the Marlies April 2 & 3, and then wrap up their division schedule this season with a pair of games at Copps Coliseum against the Hamilton Bulldogs on April 4 & 6.

YOUNG GUNS: Both Mario Bliznak and Jordan Schroeder scored a goal and collected an assist in last night's win. Schroeder is now on a four-game points streak dating back to his first professional game on Mar. 20/10. In that four-game span, Schroeder has collected six points (3g, 3a). Bliznak broke his three-game drought when he earned both a goal and helper in the second period. After 69 games played in antlers this season, the Trencin, Slovakia native has earned 23 points (9g, 14a).

Upcoming Opponents

The Manitoba Moose are closing-out their regular season series with the Abbotsford Heat tonight with third place in the North Division on the line. So far this season, the Moose are 6-1-0-0 against the Heat after dropping their first match-up and then winning six-straight. Manitoba has also been perfect on visiting ice aganist the Heat, winning both clashes back in January and one last night. Moose skater Sergei Shirokov leads his club with nine points (1g, 8a) against the Heat while Cory Schneider has appeared in all seven games against the Calgary Flames affiliate so far this season (6-1-0, 2.10 GAA, 0.926 SV%).
