Providence Bruins News Release
The Providence Bruins and Dunkin' Donuts have teamed together for the second consecutive year to produce warm-up jerseys for the 2003-04 season, to be worn during the 20-minute pre-game skate prior to the start of games. Bruins fans will have the chance to own autographed warm-up jerseys of their favorite players at the conclusion of the season, with proceeds going to Hasbro Children's Hospital. The Providence Bruins Charities will make the jerseys available for bid on the Bruins' website at www.providencebruins.com beginning in March.
Hasbro Children's Hospital has the area's only pediatric intensive care unit and pediatric oncology and cardiac programs. It also has separate emergency and surgical units designated for pediatric patients, and operates specialty clinics that treat children ranging in age from newborn to 18 years old.
In addition, the Bruins also announced today that they will begin a Thanksgiving Food Drive on Friday, November 14, when they host the Portland Pirates at 7:05 p.m. The wives and girlfriends of the Bruins players will accept non-perishable food items at a table located in the Dunkin' Donuts Center box office lobby. Food donations will also be accepted at the Bruins' games on Friday, November 21 at 7:05 p.m. against the Hartford Wolf Pack, and on Wednesday, November 26 at 7:05 p.m. against the Springfield Falcons. All food items collected will be donated to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
The Providence Bruins announced on Friday that they will team up with Dave & Buster's in the Providence Place Mall in continuing their successful "Tip-A-Bruin" campaign, which now enters its eighth year. The program features Providence Bruins players working as members of the Dave & Buster's waitstaff. In addition, the players will sell raffle tickets for Bruins souvenirs, as well as sell discounted Providence Bruins game tickets, donated by Providence Bruins Charities. All proceeds collected will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
