
Karlander Returns to Griffins on PTO

Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Saturday signed center Kory Karlander to a professional tryout.
The 31-year-old native of Melita, Manitoba, collected 38 points (14-24-38) in 66 games with Grand Rapids from 1998-2000. He led the International Hockey League and set a franchise record with four shorthanded goals during the 1998-99 campaign, and his total of five shorthanded goals in a Griffins uniform ties for second all-time on the club.
Karlander has played six games this season for the Griffins' United Hockey League affiliate, the Muskegon Fury, contributing six points (3-3-6). He is expected to be in Grand Rapids' lineup tonight when the Hamilton Bulldogs visit Van Andel Arena at 7:30 p.m.
