Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
WILKES-BARRE, PA. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today recalled forward Jason Jaffray from their ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers. The announcement was made by Penguins' team president Jeff Barrett.

The 6'1", 205-pound native of Olds, Alberta was named the East Coast Hockey League Rookie of the Year last season after leading the Roanoke Express in scoring with 84 points (33+51) in 62 games. He became the first non-goaltender to win the award in five years.
Jaffray led ECHL rookies in assists and points while ranking second in goals and tied for third with 10 power-play goals. Along with being named as the league's Rookie of the Year, Jaffray also earned ECHL all-rookie team and All-ECHL first team honors.
He was signed by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a one-year American Hockey League contract on September 10, 2003.
Jaffray is expected to be in the lineup tonight as the Penguins (6-4-1, 13 pts; third-place, East Division) host the Syracuse Crunch (7-3-2, 16 pts; first-place, North Division) at 7:05 p.m. at Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza.
