Griffins Send Two to Muskegon

Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Saturday assigned right wing Tim Skarperud to the Muskegon Fury of the United Hockey League and released center Kory Karlander from his pro tryout.

Skarperud, 25, has one assist and eight penalty minutes in seven games with the Griffins this season. The 31-year-old Karlander, who also played in tonight's 2-2 tie with Hamilton after signing with Grand Rapids earlier on Saturday, has registered six points (3-3-6) in as many games with Muskegon this season.

Both players are expected to be in the Fury's lineup on Sunday when they host Missouri in a 5:10 p.m. start at the L.C. Walker Arena.
