
Bulldogs earn tie in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The Hamilton Bulldogs earned their first tie of the season as they skated to a 2-2 against the Grand Rapids Griffins at the Van Andel Arena on Saturday night. Through 13 games the Bulldogs record stands at six wins, five losses, one tie and one overtime loss.
Scoring for the Bulldogs on Saturday were Sylvain Blouin and Jozef Balej. The goal scored by Blouin was his first of the season. Also, Balej has now earned at least a point in ten of the Bulldogs thirteen contests this season.
The Griffins goals were scored by Travis Richards and Hugo Boisvert. Grand Rapids defenceman Niklas Kronwall earned assists on both Griffins goals.
Jean-Francois Damphousse stopped 27 shots for Hamilton, as he posted his first tie of the season. Griffins goaltender Joey MacDonald made 25 saves and remains undefeated against the Bulldogs in four all-time starts (3-0-1).
The Bulldogs did not score on their three power play opportunities. The Griffins scored once on seven chances with the man-advantage.
For the first time in franchise history the Hamilton Bulldogs will host the Chicago Wolves TOMORROW-Sunday, November 9th (6:00 p.m.) at Copps Coliseum. Chicago's roster features the Bulldogs' all-time leading scorer Brian Swanson and former Bulldogs veteran Bill Lindsay.
