
Owlz Swept in Doubleheader by Vibes

(Colorado Springs, CO) - The Orem Owlz (13-28) had leads in both games of the doubleheader but were swept by the Rocky Mountain Vibes (18-23) on Tuesday night at UCHealth Park in Colorado Springs.
The Owlz jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning of game one, getting runs on a Brandon White triple and an Anthony Mulrine sacrifice fly. After the Vibes tied the game in the bottom of the second, the Owlz scored four runs in the third. Will Wilson started the inning with home run, his fourth of the season, giving the Owlz the lead back at 3-2. Later in the frame, David Clawson doubled in a pair and Morgan McCullough knocked in a run with a single, putting the Owlz up 6-2.
Orem did not score for the rest of the game. With two outs in the sixth inning, Micah Bello and Jose Sibrian hit back-to-back singles. After Nick Egnatuk was hit by a pitch, Bryan Torres singled in a pair and another run scored on an error. Cesar Rodriguez then tied the game with a single. The Vibes walked off winners in the seventh on a Jess Williams bunt single. Cristian Sierra (3-1) earned the win for the Vibes while Dazon Cole (0-1) was charged with the loss.
The Owlz got off to a quick start in game two, scoring a pair of runs in the first inning on a Johan Sala single and a David Clawson triple, putting the Owlz in front 2-0. Will Wilson tripled to lead off the third inning and scored on a Jeremiah Jackson home run, extending the lead to 3-0.
Rocky Mountain grabbed their first lead of the game in the third inning thanks to a Nick Kahle grand slam, putting the Vibes in front of the Owlz, 4-3.
After the Owlz tied the game on a Mulrine sacrifice fly, the Vibes scored two runs in the sixth on a Luis Avila single and the Vibes took game two, 6-4. Brady Schanuel (4-1) earned the win while Ryan Smith (0-2) was charged with the loss. The Owlz and the Vibes will finish the series on Wednesday night at 6:40 in Colorado Springs.
