July 31, 2019 - Pioneer League (PL)
Grand Junction Jackalopes News Release

Despite battling in the ninth, the Rockies fell 4-3 on Tuesday night as the Raptors evened the series at a game apiece at Suplizio Field.

In his first start of the season, Blair Calvo surrendered four walks in his 1.2 innings including two with the bases loaded that allowed Ogden to take a 2-0 lead in the second.

The Rockies didn't get on the board until the fifth inning when Brenton Doyle singled in Julio Carreras and Walking Cabrera gave his team a 3-2 lead with a two-run single.

However, the lead didn't last long as Sauryn Lao ended an 0-13 slump with a line drive to left to bring in Ryan Ward to tie the game at three.

Nick Robertson and Jeff Belge held the Rox scoreless through the seventh and eighth to get their team to the final frame where Sam McWilliams broke up the tie with an RBI single off of Eric Hepple who got tagged with his second loss of the season.

In the ninth, Grand Junction loaded the bases with one out, but Doyle bounced into a 4-6-3 double play to end the game and yield Reza Aleaziz's third win of the season after pitching 1.1 scoreless.

Junction will look to win its first series of the year against Ogden tomorrow as Anderson Amarista will start opposite of Elio Serrano in the rubber match.
