Evansville Otters News Release

Evansville, IN-The Evansville Otters professional baseball team has announced that donation buckets will be placed at Bosse Field for their home games on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4 to collect funds for the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. The Otter franchise will match the donations made by fans, up to a $10,000 contribution from the team. In addition, the Evansville Otters Booster Club will be donating all of their half-pot proceeds from Saturday's and Sunday's games to the relief effort; the Booster Club donation will also be matched by the Otter organization.

"After seeing the devastation, we asked ourselves what we could do to help," said Otters' president Bill Bussing. "I think all of us realized that a natural disaster can befall anyone, and that those of us who were not directly involved have a moral obligation to help those who were."

The Otters conclude the 2005 season on Monday, September 5 and will be using the game as a fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. General Admission tickets will be sold for $3.00 on Monday, with all gate revenue being donated to MDA. The Evansville Otters Booster Club will be donating their half-pot proceeds to MDA as well. In addition, 14 WFIE will be broadcasting live from Bosse Field throughout the afternoon as part of their Labor Day telethon.

Game times are 7:05 pm on Saturday; 6:05 pm on Sunday; and 12:05 pm on Monday.
