Evansville Otters News Release

The Evansville Otters are pleased to announce that tonight's game against the Chillicothe Paints broke the Otters record for season attendance. Team President Bill Bussing's ballclub welcomed 2,708 fans into Bosse Field on Saturday night, helping to break the single season mark of 127,867 set in 2004.

Evansville has increased its attendance in each of the last five years since the Bussing Family bought the club prior to the 2001 season. During that span, the team has experienced a sixty-five percent cumulative increase in their yearly attendance.

"The continued support that the community has given to the team has been outstanding," said Otters General Manager, Steve Tahsler, "we continue to hope to be able to serve the tri-state in the years to come."

This new record is the second attendance milestone that the Otters have surpassed in this memorable 2005 season. On opening night, Evansville became the first team in Frontier League history to usher in their one-millionth fan.

The overall attendance for the 2005 campaign is 129,947.

The Otters conclude the 2005 season on Monday, September 5th. It is the third day game of the year with general admission tickets being sold for $3.00 with all gate revenue being donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. In addition, 14 WFIE will be broadcasting live at Bosse Field as part of their Labor Day telethon. Monday's day game will begin at 12:05pm.
