Windy City ThunderBolts News Release
Rockford, IL - For the 2nd time in 3 starts, Mike Renery lasted 7 innings or more and the Bolts dropped the RiverHawks 6-2 at Marinelli Field Saturday night. Windy City has won 2 straight over Rockford.
The Bolts cracked the scoreboard first with a Matt Ferrara RBI groundout in the 2nd inning. Doug Schutt followed with an RBI single in the 3rd. The Bolts touched Rockford starter Luke Lambo up for a trio of runs in the 6th inning. Donnie Poles provided a 2-run single to left field in the frame. Justin Schuda added a final tally in the 9th.
Mike Renery lasted 7 innings and surrendered just a pair of runs in his second win since returning to the starting rotation about 2 weeks ago. Wes Mindingall yielded just one base runner in the 8th and Chris Hayes closed the game with a silent 9th inning.
Clemente Bonilla chipped in with his 3rd 4-hit contest of the year and scored the final Windy City tally. Former Windy City player Nick Johnson was 0-for-4 in the game. The Bolts have now taken 2 straight over Rockford.
