Florence, Kentucky: A beautiful night welcomed 2,311 fans to Champion Window Field for Friday night baseball, the Freedom took advantage shutting out Washington 3-0. Corey Thurman pitched a two-hitter.

It was a scoreless game until the sixth, when Kyle Geswein smashed a homer into the night, all the way out to the hill overlooking Champion Window Field, his 23rd homerun of the season, and the Freedom broke the tie with a 2-0 lead. Scott Martin added the third Freedom run, an RBI double. Starting Pitcher Corey Thurman (2-3) lead the way for the Freedom, he pitched a two hit shutout, going eight innings, striking out six, and he lowered his ERA to 4.38. Ted Rowe came in to shutout the Wild Things in the ninth to seal the sweep, and picked up his 16th save of the season.
