Evansville Otters News Release
July 8, 2009, Evansville, IN - Wednesday night's game between the Florence Freedom and Evansville Otters was suspended due to rain and will be played as part of a doubleheader Thursday. The rain started to fall a few pitches into the game. After two batters and two pitches to Freedom designated hitter Ryan Basham, the umpires sent the teams off the field. The game was finally called 30 minutes after the delay began. The game will resume Thursday at 5:05pm in the top of the first inning with Jay Johnson at second and Erold Andrus at first with no outs and a 1-1 count to Basham. The game will be nine innings in length, to be followed by a seven inning affair to complete the three game series.
