April 19, 2010 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Beloit Sky Carp News Release

The Beloit Snappers broke out the brooms early Monday morning with a 1-0 victory over the Clinton LumberKings at Pohlman Field.

Angel Morale's second home run of the season in the fourth inning was the only run the Snappers would need as starting pitcher Daniel Osterbrock dominated the LumberKing offense by striking out six batters in 6 1/3 innings of work.

Peter Kennelly and Steve Blevins finished off the game and didn't allow a hit in 2 2/3 innings as Blevins picked up his fourth save of the year.

Lead off man Aaron Hicks went 2-3 with a double on the day for his first multiple hit game of the 2010 season. Game time of the game was one hour and 58 minutes.

In the series the Snappers pitchers only allowed three runs which came in the eighth inning of game one and went on to blank the Lumberkings over the next 21 frames. The Snappers lead the Midwest League with five shout out victories with the Quad Cities River Bandits in second with two.

The Snappers are now 7-5 on the season and are tied for second place as they now have won four straight games and will welcome in the West leading Quad Cities River Bandits Tuesday night at Pohlman Field with first pitch scheduled at 6:30PM. Right hander Miguel Munoz will look to keep the Snappers on the winning track as he takes the mound for the Snappers Tuesday night.
