Osprey Pitchers Shut Down Raptors

OGDEN - The Ogden Raptors (15-16) managed just one run on seven hits and fell 7-1 to the Missoula Osprey (16-12) in the second game of a four-game series on Sunday afternoon.

Gage Green was 2-for-4 with two doubles, including an RBI double that scores Delvin Morales in the fifth inning, but the Raptors hit just 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position and left eight runners on base.

After going 3-for-4 on Saturday night, Luke Lowery went 4-for-4 with two doubles and scored three runs for Missoula. He doubled and scored as part of a two-run first inning that gave the Osprey an early advantage.

Marcus Wilson smacked a bases-clearing double in the third inning that blew the game open and gave Missoula a 5-0 lead. The Osprey added runs in the fifth and sixth innings off RBI doubles by Tyler Humphreys and Austin Byler. Six of Missoula's 12 hits were doubles.

Ivan Vieitez (0-2) took the loss, allowing seven hits and five runs in three innings in his fourth start of the season. Cameron Smith (5-0) became the Pioneer League wins leader giving up just three hits and no runs in 3 2/3 innings. PBL saves leader Dan Savas pitched a scoreless, hitless ninth inning, but in a non-save situation.

Dennis Santana will start the third game of the series on Monday night for Ogden against Missoula's Anfernee Benitez. First pitch is slated for 7:00pm MT.
