The Stingrays got out to an early lead in the first frame. With just three seconds left in the period, F Hunter Bishop found F Alex MacLeod in front of the net, and McLeod redirected the shot into the back of the net to give the Stingrays a 2-0 lead heading into the second period.
Neither side was able to strike in the second frame, and South Carolina stretched their lead to 3-0 when MacLeod fired a slap shot into the top left corner of the net 3:31 into the third. Orlando began their comeback when C Mathew Sisca hit Severyn with a backdoor pass for a power play goal at 12:08, and Severyn followed it up with his second goal of the game when he deflected a shot from Sisca at 15:39 to bring Orlando back to within one. F Micheal Neal evened the game at 3-3, forcing overtime when he slammed home a loose puck from the low slot with 23 seconds left and the goaltender pulled.
