
Coetzee to Grand Rapids; May and Davis Added

(Toledo, OH) - Forward Willie Coetzee has been reassigned by the NHL's Detroit Red Wings to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. Forward John May has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye and goaltender Christian Davis has been added as an emergency backup for tonight's game in Kalamazoo.
Coetzee leads Toledo in goal scoring with 18 so far this season and is second on the team in points with 37. The native Johannesburg, South Africa has been out of action since January 31st with an injury.
May appeared in one game earlier this season for Toledo and six more for Kalamazoo. The native of Livonia, Michigan appeared in ten games last season with the Walleye and collected one assist. Davis played his high school at St. Johns in Toledo.
The Griffins are at home this week as they host Lake Erie on Friday and Charlotte on Sunday.
Toledo Walleye return home for Hockey Heritage Weekend in Toledo on Saturday, February 16 and Sunday, February 17. The alumni team plays its first ever game at the Huntington Center against the Fort Wayne Komets on Sunday.
