HEADLINES: RedHawks 6-game win streak ends ... Volquez starts tonight ... RedHawks playing error-free

TODAY'S OPPONENT: The Iowa Cubs are the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. They have been a member of the Pacific Coast League since 1998. Last year, the Cubs were 64-75 and finished fourth in the PCL American Conference Northern Division.

TODAY'S GAME: The RedHawks continue their eight-game homestand against Iowa. The RedHawks are on a stretch where they will play 24 of 32 games on the road from May 18-June 18. This is their 58th game this season, 30th home game and third game against Iowa.

LAST GAME: RedHawks pitcher walked a season-high 10 batters in their 4-2 loss to Iowa. Joaquin Arias went two-for-four with a triple and Adam Hyzdu was two-for-three with an RBI to lead the RedHawks. Iowa scored two runs in the ninth to break a 2-2 tie off reliever Antonio Alfonseca. Iowa starter Rich Hill went seven innings and gave up two runs on six hits with a walk and seven strikeouts.

VS. IOWA: The RedHawks are 44-52 all-time against Iowa since the two teams joined the PCL in 1998. The RedHawks are 23-25 against Iowa at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. Last year was the RedHawks first season series win over the Cubs since 2001 when they won five of eight against them.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Starting pitcher Edinson Volquez makes his 12th start of the season for the RedHawks. He is Texas' No. 1 prospect according to Baseball America. He had a no decision in his last start May 31 against Albuquerque when Oklahoma won 3-2 in 11 innings. He went seven innings and gave up two runs on four hits with three walks and eight strikeouts. Lefty Ryan O'Malley starts for Iowa .

STREAKERS: Shortstop Joaquin Arias is on a six-game hitting streak dating back to May 30. He is 10-for-24 (.417) with a home run and an RBI during the streak, raising his average from .258 to .276 (18 rise). Relief pitcher Bryan Corey has not allowed an earned run in his last six outings (7.2 IP). He has five saves, nine strikeouts and has allowed three hits and one walk in his last six games.

STARTING PITCHERS: In the last seven games, Oklahoma starters have three wins. They have given up 11 runs, nine earned over 40 innings (2.03 ERA) with 23 walks and 38 strikeouts.

JASON HART: First baseman Jason Hart is 4-for-12 with two doubles, a triple and an RBI in his first three games back with the RedHawks. Hart last played for Oklahoma in 2003. He missed 2004 while recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumor, spent all of last year with Double-A Frisco and started 2006 with the Rochester Red Wings in the Minnesota organization. The Rangers acquired Hart for a player to be named later. Hart hit .257 with 46 homers and 165 RBIs in 271 games with Oklahoma in 2002 and 2003. He is second on the team's all-time home runs list behind Scott Sheldon who has 57.

WILL SMITH: In his last 10 games, outfielder Will Smith is 14-for-39 (.358) with four doubles, a home run and seven RBIs. He has raised his average from .258 to .295 (27 rise) in the last 10 games. He has five two-hit games in his last 10 and was two-for-four with a homer and three RBIs May 23 at Colorado Springs.

ERRORS: The RedHawks have not committed an error in their last four games and have committed only one error in the first six games of this homestand. They committed 13 errors during their 12-game road trip May 18-29.

HOME SWEET HOME: Going back to July 22 of last season, the RedHawks are 38-16 (.704) at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark including 1-1 in last year's playoffs against Nashville. They are 37-15 (.712) at home in regular season games since July 22.

CLOSE GAMES: Twenty of Oklahoma 's 26 wins this season have come by four runs or less, including 12 one-run wins. Also, 23 of Oklahoma 's 31 losses this season have come by four runs or less. They have nine losses by one run, seven losses by two runs, four losses by three runs and three losses by four runs.

RADIO UPDATE: The RedHawks' flagship station for most games is KEBC 1340 AM. However, there are a few dates the flagship station will change due to scheduling conflicts. The RedHawks will be on AM 1000 KTOK June 10. They will be on KFXY 1640 The Score June 11.

DOT-DOT-DOTS: Relief pitcher Wes Littleton has stranded five inherited runners (none allowed) in his first three outings as a RedHawk ... 1B Dave Berg has announced his retirement ...
