COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- Iowa Cubs hurler Rich Hill added to his collection of League awards after earning PCL Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this season and for the third time since August 21st of last season. Hill posted a 1.29 ERA and tallied 21 strikeouts on his way to becoming the first player to collect multiple League awards this season. Meanwhile, the Salt Lake Bees' Howie Kendrick was named the PCL's top batter for the week ending June 4th, after enjoying an impressive stretch at the plate that included four home runs and 14 RBI while posting a .517 batting average.

Kendrick's outstanding week was sparked by a 4-for-4 performance during a May 29th game versus the Las Vegas 51s that was quickly followed by a 3-for-4 showing that included two home runs and three RBI in a June 3rd contest against the Fresno Grizzlies. A native of Jacksonville, Florida, the Bees' infielder now sits atop the league with a .391 batting average and is among the league-leaders in on-base percentage with a mark of .429. The 22 year-old is in his fifth professional season and his first at the Triple-A level.

Rich Hill matched a career-best mark of 14 strikeouts while throwing seven shutout innings in a May 30th game against the Nashville Sounds, a performance that proved to set the tone for his award-winning week.
