TODAY'S OPPONENT: The Tucson Sidewinders are the Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. They have been a member of the Pacific Coast League since 1969.
TODAY'S GAME: The RedHawks finish their series with Tucson . The RedHawks have lost the first three games of the series and could be swept for the fifth time this season. The RedHawks were swept five times in 2000, four times in four-game series. They were also swept five times in 2003. Two of those were in four-game series and another was a two-game series. The RedHawks are 4-12 on Fridays and 15-11 in the last game of a series.
STANDINGS: The RedHawks are in third place, seven games behind Albuquerque .
LAST GAME: The RedHawks were shutout in consecutive games for the first time in their history, losing 4-0 to Tucson . The Sidewinders beat them 1-0 on Wednesday. Chad Allen went two-for-four for the RedHawks.
VS. TUCSON: The RedHawks are 23-23 against Tucson and 10-16 at TEP all-time. Last year the Sidewinders took three of four from the RedHawks in Tucson .
PITCHING MATCHUP: Oklahoma's R.A. Dickey makes his second start as a full-time knuckleballer and his 11th start overall this season for the RedHawks. Dickey gave up 12 runs on 14 hits in 5.2 innings in his first knuckleball start July 24 against Iowa . Dickey's last two home runs allowed have been two-run home runs by Nate Frese in the second innings of his starts July 24 and July 1against Iowa. Edgar Gonzalez starts for Tucson.
STREAKERS: Infielder Marshall McDougall is on a season-high 12-game hitting streak dating back to June 28. He is 18-for-45 [.400] with 15 RBIs during the streak, raising his average from .320 to .338. He is also on a 10-game road hitting streak ... Relief pitcher Kelvin Jimenez has not given up a run since July 5 at Albuquerque [six outings, 10.2 innings] ... Relief pitcher Hector Mercado has not given up an earned run since July 10 at Omaha [five outings, seven innings].
DESERT ROAD TRIP: The RedHawks are 2-9 in Tucson and Las Vegas the last two seasons. Both of those wins came last year in starts by Juan Dominguez .
BULLPEN: In the last 10 games, the bullpen is 1-0-3 with a 1.11 ERA [4ER, 32.1IP] with 11 walks and 26 strikeouts. The RedHawks are 6-4 in their last 10 games.
CHAD ALLEN: In his last nine games, Chad Allen is 16-for-39 [.410] with four doubles, two home runs and nine RBIs. He has hits in seven of those games, all multi-hit games. He has five two-hit games and two three-hit games in his last nine games.
SITUATIONAL STATS: During this series, the RedHawks are batting .244 [10-for-41] with runners on base and .227 [5-for-22] with runners in scoring position. RedHawk batters are 14-for-42 [.333] at advancing runners. Tucson is batting .333 [13-for-39] with runners on base, .240 [6-for-25] with RISP and are 24-for-45 [.533] at advancing runners.
ATTENDANCE: Through 51 home openings, the RedHawks have drawn 400,180 fans, an average of 7,846. Last year, they averaged 6,678 fans. In 1998, they averaged a franchise-record 7,192.
DOT-DOT-DOTS: The RedHawks have used 30 pitchers so far this season. They used 30 all of last season ... The RedHawks have not scored in 21 innings ... They have not hit a home run in three games, a span of 28 innings. Their last home run was a two-run home run by Jason Botts off of Iowa's Cliff Bartosh in the seventh inning July 25 ... Botts' seven triples this year ties the single-season RedHawks record set by Kelly Dransfeldt in 2002.
