(Round Rock, TX) - Lefty Carlos Hernandez may not have figured in the decision in the Express' 8-5 win over Colorado Springs on Thursday night at The Dell Diamond. But he may have turned a corner in his comeback from shoulder problems.

Hernandez went four solid innings, displaying a fastball from 88-91, giving up three runs on two hits while striking out six and walking four.

The Express fell behind three to nothing in the second inning on a lead-off walk, an RBI double and a two-run homer from LF Ryan Spilborghs.

But Round Rock came right back to tie it on a two-run Royce Huffman homer in the bottom of the second inning and an RBI double from the pitcher himself, Carlos Hernandez to the score at three.

The Express ripped starter Justin Hampson for four more runs in the third inning, with the big blow, Barry Wesson's clutch, two-run triple, and the Express led 7-3.

Colorado Springs picked up solo runs in the fifth and in the eighth. Round Rock made it 8-5 on Carlos Rivera's pinch hit homer in the bottom of the eighth and the Express won its first game against Colorado Springs.

The series finale begins at 7:05 PM on Friday. Righty Brandon Duckworth will get the start for the Express and he will be opposed by Christian Parker.
