OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Dodgers have announced a new partnership with PepsiCo to increase beverage recycling at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The PepsiCo Recycling program will officially launch on Thursday, May 7 during the Dodgers home game against the New Orleans Zephyrs beginning at 7:05 p.m. The recycling program offers fans an easy and convenient way to help the environment and also support U.S. veterans through its support of the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV).

To help kick off the program, Erik "Skip" Moratzka, a 2013 graduate from the Texas A&M EVB program, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Fans will now be able to recycle plastic bottles and aluminum cans throughout Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark at recycling bins, which are in the shape of oversized Pepsi bottles. Thirty recycling bins will be located throughout the concourse, and additional bins will be placed in all ballpark suites and on the club level.

The PepsiCo Recycling program has introduced thousands of new recycling solutions to high-traffic retail locations, colleges and universities, K-12 schools and other organizations across North America with the goal of increasing the U.S. beverage container recycling rate to 50 percent by 2018.

In addition to the many environmental and community benefits, every bottle and can recycled in a PepsiCo bin makes it possible for the company to donate funds to the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV). Through the EBV program, post-9/11 disabled veterans receive training in entrepreneurship and small business management at no cost. PepsiCo Recycling also supports The Nature Conservancy's efforts to protect clean drinking water through its 'Recycle for Nature.'

Tickets for the OKC Dodgers current home series, which runs through Thursday against New Orleans, are available through the OKC Dodgers ticket office at (405) 218-1000 or through okcdodgers.com.
