Early Runs Push Dodgers to 5-2 Win

Oklahoma City - A four-run first inning propelled the Oklahoma City Dodgers to a 5-2 win Monday against the New Orleans Zephyrs at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
The PCL-leading Dodgers improved to 19-6 on the season with their fifth win in the last six games. The win opened a four-game series for Oklahoma City against the Zephyrs in front of a crowd of 3,752.
The Dodgers scored four times in the first inning.
New Orleans pitcher Pat Misch hit the first four Dodgers batters to open the first inning and give Oklahoma City a 1-0 lead. The four hit batsmen in one inning set a league record.
The Dodgers went on to add three more runs before the end of the frame.
Shortstop Corey Seager drove in two runs on a line drive single to right field. First baseman O'Koyea Dickson, activated off the Disabled List Monday, grounded into a double play allowing another run to score for a 4-0 Oklahoma City advantage.
The Zephyrs (11-12) got on the scoreboard in the fourth inning. Cole Gillespie doubled to lead off the fourth inning and scored on a one-out double by Brady Shoemaker to cut the Dodgers lead to 4-1.
Catcher Austin Barnes belted his second home run of the season past the Dodgers' bullpen in left center field to give Oklahoma City a 5-1 edge in the fifth inning.
The Zephyrs added a run in the top of the ninth when Juan Diaz grounded into a double play and Vinny Rottino scored to cut New Orleans' lead to 5-2.
The Zephyrs outhit the Dodgers, 10-5.
Ramon Troncoso made a spot start for Oklahoma City on the mound, tossing 3.0 shutout innings. Pitcher Chris Reed followed, allowing one run.
Juan Gonzalez, who joined the Dodgers Monday from Double-A Tulsa, earned the win. The right-handed pitcher held New Orleans to two hits over 2.0 scoreless innings. Josh Ravin closed out the game for Oklahoma City, allowing one run and two hits over the final two frames.
Misch (1-2) was charged with the loss. He allowed five runs and five hits over 6.0 innings. He finished the game with a league record five hit batsmen in the game.
The Dodgers continue their four-game road series against the Zephyrs at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at Principal Park.
